Text

The Meeting finds and declares that this
Meeting does not consider itself as a Court of Law but as
an incorporated body vested with the power of punishing
Students and such as are subject to its government.
That it is tied by none of the forms of law but by the
same prudence and Equity which guides a wise parent
in the government of his family. That therefore Mr Robison
and Mr Woodburn are not to eb tried for their misbehaviour
according to the forms of law, but according to
the dictates of Equity nd sound judgement. That the
Meeting will give them no formal Lybel, will allow them
to bring no Lawyer of any kind into this meeting or before
the Committee, that where they have owned a fact with
which they are charged no other proof will be desired
but that where a fact with which they are charged is not
owned they will be confronted with the witneſses, be
allowed to croſs-question them at full lengt, be allowed
to bring exculpatory Evidence and if any of the witneſses
are not subject to this Meeting and refuse to come when
summoned the Meeting will apply to the Sherriff for a
Warrant to bring them.
