( Private )
My Dear Sir ,
I enclose a pass with
pleasure. On returning it to
me address “private” outside ,
as all letters not so marked
are opened.
I have heard from
Mr Cooke , & also seen
him ; he seems up to the
neck in furthering books.
I hope you will have
a prosperous season .
Self Help indeed makes its way
wonderfully. Do you see
the large crop of imitations
it has produced ?
With kind regards to
Mrs Murray , Believe me
[Yours vy] faithfully
S Smiles
J. Murray Esq
