Corpus of Modern Scottish Writing (CMSW) - www.scottishcorpus.ac.uk/cmsw/ Document : 336 Title: Letter from Archibald Campbell, 22 Dec 1823 Author(s): Campbell, Archibald Edinr22 Decr 1824 Dear Sirs I received Mr [¿] letter accepting my Resignation some days ago in which he sys that his Majesty will grant me the full Pension allowed by the act 4893 c145 Since that I have head nothing of the warrant but I had a letter yesterday from Mr Reid of the [¿] here stating that no time should be lost in getting the Warrant from the Treasury as the Establishment for the warrant quarter will be made up in the course of ten days & it can include me he would require to see the warrant in order to ascertain at what period my [¿] as a judge will fall to be stopt & my [¿] allow once commence I beg you will try what you can do to get the Warrant from the Treasury set down Mr [¿] letter to me is dated the 13th this month & my letter tendering my Resignation is dated the 16th Nov I should suppose the acceptance wil be the period from which the serving as a Judge will cease I shall expect to hear from you & beg you will addreſs to me at Whittinghame Prestonbark as I go to Balfour's on the 24th for ten days I am your obedt Faithfull Sert Archd Campbell
